Acid Finishing
Produces different results depending on whether the acid is applied on the granite or marble, in the first case the effect is just to clean the plate, in the second the reaction because of the porosity of marble, makes “move” the surface.
Oldened Surface
Processing applicable to a material previously sandblasted and then impregnated with substances that make it water and oil repellent. Spice up the natural color of the stone and makes antiqued.
Split
Also called the natural split, because it is simply the finish “natural” block split without further intervention, it is particularly suited to slates and Profidi, as well as – in some cases – the travertines and Trani.
Hammered
Process that transforms the raw surfaces in knurled surfaces in different degrees of finish presenting so much rough, crude but at the same time, homogeneous. Applicable to marble and sandstone.
Flamed
Surface treatment reserved for granites to give the sawn surface a rough appearance with the crystal lattice in evidence through the use of a blowtorch. Suitable for granite and some sandstones.
Rifling
Produces a “scratch” effect and can be applied to marble and sandstone.
Raw-rough
Also called “sawn” aspect is a type of finish that is cutting the block with a diamond saw, which gives the plate a superifice irregular and very natural.
Hydrofinishing
Similar to the flaming, is a new technology which consists in a jet of water of adjustable intensity that has a double advantage: it does not alter the stone saw which does not produce high temperatures and allows to create an effect “orange” at different intensities depending on the pressure of the jet. Applicable to granite.
Honed
It ‘a finish of a surface. The equalization of the material takes place by means of geometrically undefined cutting with a polishing machine that applies to and is made of stone or abrasive powder such stone, in the past used the pumice powder and the process took. The instrument can both rotate that move along the horizontal axis or linear according to the type of machine tool and scope of the working. Finish applicable to marble, granite, travertine and sandstone.
Leather
Finish that gives the appearance of hot material pleasant to the touch.
Polish
Processing that enhances the natural look of the stone. Is realized through the high-pressure jet of sand that makes the surface rough, opaque with rounded edges and is usually used in environments that need to be “non-slippery.” We create pleasant effects approaching the processing hammered to the glossy contrasts this approach produces.
Sandblasting
Processing that enhances the natural look of the stone. Is realized through the high-pressure jet of sand that makes the surface rough, opaque with rounded edges and is usually used in environments that need to be “non-slippery.” We create pleasant effects approaching the processing hammered to the glossy contrasts this approach produces.
Brushed
Processing achieved by brushing the surface polished with special machines to give a more pleasant feeling to the touch.
This finish is applied to marble, granite, travertine and sandstone.
