The Terrazzo flooring is a unique multi-chromatic,
composed of granules and marble chips-pebbles, river stones, , mother of pearl and glass. The whole is tied together with binders like
the lime which, after hardening, is smoothed and polished; derives almost
certainly from the Hellenistic mosaics “opus musivum” intended to
paving of local cultural and artistic. The technique for this type of
mosaic floor and ‘was developed in 1400 by craftsmen of the School
the Roman Mosaic and handed down over the centuries by the Terrazzo Friuli Area, had its
heyday in Venice during the period of the Maritime Republics.
